Ramtek, a city that contains in itself so much to explore, it’s a fine confluence of mythology, devotion, literature, and history.

During our one day tour to this place, we visit one of the prime archaeological sites i.e. the Mansar archaeological excavation site belonging to the Vakataka period which is evidence of a settlement that existed nearly 1600 years ago. The Ramtek fort and Gad Mandir hold mythological significance. There are ancient temples, tanks, step-wells, and lake. It was in Ramtek that prolific Sanskrit poet Kalidasa wrote his epic, Meghdoot. Besides Ram Temple and other Hindu Shrines, there is an ancient Jain temple with various ancient statues of Jain Tirthankara. South of Ramtek lies Nandivardhan or Nagardhan, the ancient capital of Vakatakas.
