The Nine-yard long saree or Kashta as it is called is a traditional Maharashtrian attire. It’s a significant attire where women across different walks of life have worn it, may it be at a cultural or a religious event. Women have fought wars in the past wearing it; and till date it’s a part of their daily attire in the rural areas.

 

One such special saree worn by a celebrated folk artist is being weaved in Nagpur for long time now, on this tour we shall be visiting these places of weavers weaving these nine-yard-long saree and shall know about the process of weaving.
