About the event
Ramtek, a city that contains in itself so much to explore, it’s a fine confluence of mythology, devotion, literature, and history.
During the one day tour to this place, we visit one of the prime archaeological sites i.e. the Mansar archaeological excavation site belonging to the Vakataka period which is evidence of a settlement that existed nearly 1600 years ago. The Ramtek fort and Gad Mandir which holds mythological significance. There are ancient temples, tanks, step-wells, and lake. It was in Ramtek that prolific Sanskrit poet Kalidasa wrote his epic, Meghdoot. Besides Ram Temple and other Hindu Shrines, there is an ancient Jain temple with various ancient statues of Jain Tirthankara.
