About the event
Markanda, a 1200 years old temple complex is situated on the bank of River Wainganga. It is an important pilgrim in the Vidarbha region and is also known as mini Khajuraho making it a must-visit for people interested in history, arts, and architecture. It is a Mahadeva temple and there are also temples belonging to Vaishnav and Shakta faiths. Markandadeo is 180 KM from Nagpur in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra.
This is a day-long tour, curated specially for conscious travelers which includes a heritage walk, which would unfold the stories and folklore among the locals. The walk would focus on understanding the history, art, and architecture of the 18 temples, ruins, and other archaeological remains present on the premises. It would revolve around indulging in the beautiful sculptures and their iconography i.e. symbolic meanings associated with them.
We could spend some time by the river-side, soaking our feet or taking a boat ride!
